'Adrift' by Eelus
We are delighted to have Eelus contribute a piece for the second time to the Editions series. his previous piece 'Blow Up' sold out within minutes when it went on general release.
'Adrift' is a 4 colour screen print of one of the most popular original canvases at his successful solo show 'Dance Boldly Through The Storm' at the Laurence Alkin Gallery in Autumn 2017. Each colour is carefully printed with tight registration ensuring all colours sit together perfectly.
The print is 40x40cm, in an edition of 100 and prints onto 270gsm Turquoise Colorplan,
Eelus: "You can’t help but be drawn in by Gary’s genuine enthusiasm for screen printing, and so taking part in his Editions series for a second time was an easy decision. I enjoy seeing my work amongst such an eclectic mix of prints that’s quite separated from the usual ‘urban art’ circus that my work is usually associated with.
Adrift first appeared as a digital sketch in my self published book ‘10A - A Decade With The Blade’ back in 2012, originally titled Floater. But it wasn’t until my recent solo show at Lawrence Alkin Gallery in London that I decided to materialise the piece and paint it onto canvas. It turned out to be one of the most popular pieces in the show as people were drawn to it’s simplicity and humour, so I was excited to work with Gary again on turning it into a screen print edition.
If you can’t fight the tide, lay back and enjoy the ride!"
